The Tuesday following the opening of the Havelock Memorial, Bill was given an honorary DEng by the University of Canterbury. Bill's acceptance was a public address, "Probing the Planets - My Lifetime in Unmanned Space Research" to 1500 people in the auditorium of the Christchurch Town Hall. This superb photo, taken by Duncan Shaw-Brown during Bill's address, is the best photo of Bill taken on this visit to New Zealand.
